Have you ever said negative things about your city? I know I have, but after hearing Apostle Negiel Bigpond teach on native American truths about the land I repented and now I speak much differently over my land. I made the change years ago and I can testify that since I began blessing my city, the city now blesses my family and me. “Work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare” (Jer. 29:7).
Negative communication over your city is actually working against the land blessing you back. You will be not only cursing the land you call home, but hindering your own future with those words. God always cares about the land, and our treatment of the land will cause the land to respond to us.
You may not like the city you are living in right now and that is something that many of us have dealt with. There is a reason God has you there; you are to stay and bless that place until you are released to move. “He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:26-28). God knows exactly where you are and He will cause the land and the people of the land to respond to you as you bless your city.
The area you live in will grow something in you. Resistance that you face will bring a new strength for you to face what is in your future. When you do face resistance, you will be tempted to curse where you live. Do not curse your city. You will overcome as you bless that place even though it is resisting you. As you continue to bless, God will turn things around for you. Ps.67:5,6 offers us a promise, “May the nations praise you, O God. Yes, may all the nations praise you. Then the earth will yield its harvests, and God Our God will bless us.” Blessings are coming!
